Completed Studies
A number of surveys and studies have been undertaken since the site was first identified as having potential to accommodate a wind farm development. These have provided a detailed understanding of the existing environment at and around the site and what potential impacts the proposed wind farm may have. Survey results have informed detailed site layout.
The planning application includes full details of the various studies and their findings.
Ecological Assessments
Our consultant ecologists have carried out a series of very detailed ecological assessments which include a breeding bird survey, a wintering bird survey as well as a number of others. The results of these assessments have been included in the Environmental Statement which has been submitted along with the planning application.
Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA)
A study was commissioned to look at the potential landscape and visual impact issues of the proposed Breaker Hill Wind Farm. Full results of this study, along with a variety of illustrations including photomontages, has been submitted as part of the Environmental Statement accompanying the planning application.
Some illustrative photomontages are displayed in the picture gallery.
Other Assessments
A series of other assessments, studies and surveys have been completed. These include, but are not limited to, hydrology, archaeology and noise. As with all of these studies, the results have been included within the Environmental Statement that has been submitted along with the planning application.
