Wind Prospect endeavour to minimise the impact of our wind farms on the local environment, communities and other stakeholders whilst gaining the benefits associated with combating climate change. Climate change left unchecked could spell the demise of 15% - 37% of all species by 2050. Source 'Extinction Risk From Climate Change' NATURE |VOL 427 | 8 JANUARY 2004 |www.nature.com/nature'
Working with the environment
We work hard to minimise the impact of our wind farms upon the environment. We monitor the species around wind farms after construction to ensure that impacts are within our estimates. Habitat enhancement schemes as well as habitat or species management plans are a regular feature of our developments where land is set aside to encourage species into the area.
- The Fens
- bird population monitoring continued after wind farms became operational to assess impacts
- Deeping St. Nicholas
- East Midlands
Working with communities
We ensure that our wind farms have a minimal impact upon local communities.
- Bicker
- access track built from the A52 to prevent construction traffic from travelling through the village
- Rusholme
- hedge planting undertaken to enhance the visual appearance of the landscape
Working with stakeholders
We liaise with stakeholders to ensure we find the most suitable solutions.
- Fens
- worked with the RSPB to identify the most sensitive areas for swan populations and ensured wind farms avoided these sites
